Transfer Opportunities for ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ Students

For many students, ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ (³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ) is just the start of their college journey. ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ has transfer agreements with several institutions and is working on creating more. These agreements allow for a seamless transition from ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ to a university.Ìý

Florida’s 2+2 Articulation Agreement

³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ participates in Florida’s 2+2 articulation system, which guarantees graduates of an Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree program admission into the State University System (SUS) of Florida. While admission to a specific university or program of study is not guaranteed, A.A. degree graduates are assured the opportunity to continue their education toward a baccalaureate degree within the SUS.

Through this statewide agreement, ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ students benefit from clearly defined transfer pathways and the security of knowing their A.A. credits will transfer to Florida’s public universities. Additional program-to-program articulation agreements are available between ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ and select universities, which provide more detailed transfer opportunities in specific fields of study.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the 2+2 articulation agreement? The 2+2 articulation agreement is a statewide policy in Florida that guarantees graduates of an Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree program admission into the State University System (SUS). This means that once you complete your A.A. degree at ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ (³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ), you are assured the opportunity to continue your education toward a bachelor’s degree at a public university in Florida.

Does this guarantee admission to any university I choose? No. While the 2+2 agreement guarantees admission somewhere within the State University System, it does not guarantee admission to a specific university or program of study. Admission decisions are still based on space availability, program prerequisites, GPA requirements, and other admission standards set by each university.

What universities are part of the State University System (SUS)? The SUS includes Florida’s 12 public universities, such as the University of Florida, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, University of South Florida, and others.

What do I need to do to qualify for the 2+2 guarantee?

  • Complete your Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree at ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ
  • Meet all the general education and elective requirements
  • Maintain the minimum GPA required for transfer admission
  • Complete any prerequisites for your intended major (some majors, such as engineering, business, or nursing, may have additional requirements)

How do I start the transfer process? Work with your ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ academic advisor early in your degree program to plan your coursework and identify your intended transfer major and university. Your advisor can help ensure that you meet both ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ’s graduation requirements and the prerequisites for your chosen bachelor’s program.

Where can I get more information? You can find details about transfer pathways and requirements by speaking with an ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ academic advisor or visiting the FloridaShines website, which provides statewide transfer information and resources.
